Nice little Irish Farmer's style Meerschaum pipe not sure of what year it was made but it has an amber mouth piece too. It's a great smoke although the bowl gets hotter quicker than the larger bowls do. I still fire it up during this time of year. If anyone knows about the time period, I'm all ears.

Thank you vetraio50!
Yeah, that would be my guess as well Kevin. Thanks but from the pipe smokers I've talked to here, they seem to think it is. From what I was told, it was heavily used during the 20s and 30s era on pipes.
Nevertheless, I will continue to smoke it, Kooties and all.
Yep, about a million years worth maybe, I thought I tasted some mesquito the other day.
Tasted like chikin!
I used to have a nice collection of mershaum pipes. Before WW2 they were all made with amber stems. At some time in the later part of the 1900's they switched to a type of plastic. Most better pipes now use lucite®.
I forgot, If it bothers you tahe the step is amber, do you know that the tenon (little screw that holds the pipe to the stem) is bone?
No it doesn't, I like the fact that it's all there as far as I know. Yes Japanoillamps, I have several newer pipes and enjoy them all.
Perhaps the stem is bakelite? Looks to be and sometimes bakelite was passd off as amber...
Personally, I prefer pipe verses cigarettes. Though, at my age, I just can't pull it off.
Thanks TylulaVintage and Https3x!
I prefer the occasional cigar myself, but I might just have to try one of these out now someday! Thanks for getting me started on another bad habit Perry!!:)
LOL, my pleasure Bernie! If I have to dwell in all this stuff, you do too.
Thank you Van and Https3x!
