My wife bought this as a gift for me. I love the New York World's Fair stuff from 39'. I think this was a souvenir for the event. I would like to know the value on this, I'm plannin on gettin it framed and hangin it on the wall in my office this week. Question is, should I iron it or is there some other process I can use to get those nasty wrinkles out?

That's very cool !! I have a couple of the custard glass decantors from the 39 Worlds Fair. But I have never seen one of these.Very Cool and nice gift. And maybe try putting it in the dryer of fluff cycle to get the wrinkles out.

I would try that Hedge but it's pretty fragile. I think if I did that, all that would come out would be frays.
    Thanks Hedge and Einkarem!

I just laid some heavy books on it to see if that helps with the wrinkles.

That's true Kevin, I would be reluctant to trust them with this.
    Thanks mark!

That's a great piece of memorabilia from the Fair. I have collected a number of items as well and I am happy to see your post. A technique you might try is to put this between 2 towels and then press. Good luck.

Very cool item! I'd be afraid to wash it or dry clean it for fear of damaging it.. you could possibly try to steam the wrinkles out. It will look great framed!

Hey Perry, nice piece, lots of good advice. My 2cents would be to frame it between 2 pieces of glass. That would keep it flat and help prevent any deterioration!

    Great item,
I agree with AR8Jason, definately UV protection. The sun is a killer on dark colors. If you feel you have to iron it, may by try low heat, sandwiched between two pieces of white cotton cloth. I also agree with aycockonxion, definalely no wash or dry clean. Depending on the size, you might want to look into a pressure frame, that will hold it very tight.
