My wife found this great book at an estate sale we were at last weekend. I spent 2 years overseas in the 1st Armored Division from 1971-73.

ttomtucker, what years were you there and where were you stationed?
I was also there in 1st Armored Division.

I like books and especially like to find unit histories.

I remember my dad mentioning his (Inf.) perspective on tanks. It boiled down to "they were nice to have around but he would do whatever he could to avoid getting in one"

You were there way before me, I was at Erlangen from 1971-73. I was 22 when I went into the Army in 1970.
