This was taken off an old slide. That is me, Christmas 1958. Check out the bathrobe, red and white pj's, and the bicycle, basket and all.
The only problem is you cannot ride a bicycle in December in Chicago. I had to wait until spring.

You were one excited kid back in 1958! Luv it! Being from the Chicago area, I know what you mean about waiting until spring. I have a summer birthday and I recall getting my bikes then! Thanks for posting, packrat.

Oh Love it Packrat ! It is so like a scene out of of Andy Griffin show in Mayberry my fav TV show ! Those Pj's are pretty cool I am sure Opie had same Pj's but Love that bike !! You look so happy what fun to share these super memories . Hope everyone joins in sharing a special Christmas picture
Double Love on this . PS Had same problem with my kids when I moved not to far from Chicago. I got to ride my new bike in CA but spray painted 2 days later and boy I won't tell ya what happened for doing that ! Let's say it wasn't fun .

Thank you very much. Yes, those were fun days, seems like so long ago. I am going to post a photograph tomorrow morning showing why bike riding in Chicago in the Winter probably will not work.
