I went outside my comfort zone and participated in a bid auction recently, came out on top for this c. 1930 vendor bottle carrier. A single, last second bid brought it home for $150. The carrier material is mostly painted, heavy gauge wire, with sweet Coca-Cola logo placards running nearly full length of both sides. There are a nifty metal handle and opener attached. "Trademark Registered" is printed within the long tail of C, leading me to believe it's an early 30's piece (?maybe late 20's?). Condition is pretty good, colors look great, which along with age is what did it for me. I have her sitting on an old wood stool next to my cooler. Nice! : )

Very Nice! I think it's from the mid to late 30's, seeing the art deco-like lettering and the color combo. Nice grab for $150...
Hi cckid, nice to hear from you. I agree the lettering looks mid-late 30's. And the logo looks like the 1930-1941 version. According to Petretti's, Trademark Registered in tail was used up until 1931. I think I remember reading makers were somewhat inconsistent at times updating trademark info as required, maybe this is an example. Petretti's page 384 lists a similar carrier as 1930s-1940s. (funny note: I had this loaded up with bottles from our summit last weekend, sent Ray a pic, he said "nice... but please take those new bottles out of that old carrier!!!!" :)
Thats a sweet find Dave, another great addition to the "Cave"!
Dave!!! You scored a cool piece there bro, I would proudly display that carrier in my cave. LOL, Ray would say that. But he is right! Stick to the period when putting things together.
Man I love that opener on the handle too!
Thanks Bernie and Perry. Added bonus: I put it on display without fanfare. Next time my wife was in the cave, she walked by it, stopped, turned around and looked back at it, and said "Oh! I like that."
Might be the first time that's happened! : )
love the carrier dave not sure if you already know but its a canadian carrier. it has the canadian trademark and the famous yellow thats seen on canadian signs, maybe thats why the wife likes it lol jk. i also think it was prob made during the 1930's. 150$ great price i have seen this carrier a couple times before priced much higher and not as nice condition as yours. thanks for showing it
LOL, Dave they do that sometimes. Lucky for you she said Oh! I like that. And not "where did you get that?" I think it's one of the coolest things you've found!
Thanks Trev for the info! I have two other Canadian pieces, a button and bottle sign. I do believe this one then makes for the hat trick!
That reminds me, Perry, The Wings got one over on The Predators the other night during our visit to Joe Louis Arena. Great game, 4-1 victory for the home team. It was a lot of fun.
i wanted to check out your other canadian signs but i dont think you have them posted?? i saw a yellow button on your list of show and tell items and i think its US made. its got the same trade mark as tommy's 1960's adjustable push bar which i thought was US as well but maybe im wrong and their both canadian.
Well Dave, I love the Preds but they have been a little dicey this season. Looks like your Wings brought it! Congrats
Hey Trev, The others with Canadian trademark are my Large Bottle Sign and the button/arrow/pilaster combo, the button also is marked "Trade Mark Reg.", which I believe indicates made for Canadian market.
Another score for sure!!!
