I have owned these statues for several years. I would like some information regarding the materials they are made off and their history.

Ivory will have a lot of cross hatching, especially around the outer rim when looking at a cross section. Resin which is faux ivory will not have any cross hatching. You can also test with a hot knife tip; resin smells like plastic burning and ivory smells like burnt hair. If they are resin? Just one of the largest manufacturers of figures like these in China has a total production capacity of more than 160,000 tons of resin per year. 1960's to 1990's. If they are ivory, which I doubt? There value and history change. Right now ivory is doing good on the market, but that will soon change. The United Nations is attempting to remove the ban on harvesting ivory and they just denied putting restrictions on coral reefs. The United Nations has chosen to ignore all the coral reef assessments in determining the extent of coral reef destruction, a major ecological issue confronting the World. They also are trying to lift all bans on ivory, hawksbill sea turtles and nacre harvesting. Part of the new "change" in the world!
