I just started collecting son in service and sweetheart pins. They are small and may not seem like much but I believe they represent a very important and human side of history. I also have what I believe to be WWI Army Nurse Corps insignia, and WWII sterling pilots wings? I would appreciate any feed back or additional info. Enjoy!

Thank you everyone for your comments! I am partial to the nursing items as well, I am one semester away from becoming a nurse myself! I love anything vintage nursing but especially WWII items. I also have a nurse cape that I will post soon, still unsure if it is civilian or military.

      Nice collection!

I would agree that is an Army Nurse Corps insignia with the "ANC" and it probably dates from WW1 era. The insignia was changed to just an applied "N" shortly after WW1. Additionally, the insignia body appears to be bronze which is also typical of that era.

The large wing is a WW2 pilots wing with the desirable pinback instead of clutches. Is it maker marked on the back or just "sterling"?

Sweetheart items from WW2 are available in almost endless variations and prices seem to be very reasonable. You are picking a great time to start your collection!

Thanks again for sharing your collection.

I love your collection. I like the Red Cross pin with the yellow edge. I have a similar one with a Blue edge. Very nice collection!!
