Manikin
(306 items)
Margit Nilsen was a noted mannequin sculptor and sold her miniature mannequins to many stores . She is noted to have sold many to McCall Pattern Co . This would have been used as a store counter mannequin to display a miniature version of a full size pattern that you could buy and see made up with much less material for store to use . 1940's during WWII their was a shortage of material and she even had to redo her formula for making the mannequins due to shortage of supplies that military used . These are great pieces of history and beautiful to look at . This one is 30 inches tall
These are not dolls but there is no category for them they are advertising displays . She did make one Doll I will be showing it was only one that was considered a doll sold By her there was a Deb-U-Doll her Little sister and Judy . These did not hold up well and many are found broke in half .

Scandi . I used to sew for a doll museum and antique doll shop but have not sewn in several yrs because of eye damage . This girl was dressed by me with just a piece of cloth and a brooch no sewing:-) . They are wonderful to sew for and there are patterns for them . When I sewed I had no patterns and make clothes out of old vintage material and designed the clothes . It was great when I could do it . I love dressing 1800's French fashions .
