These are examples of Discobolus (a fancy word for round) inkwells from my collection. They all are 5" in diameter and have identical tops and patent numbers. On my website I show the corresponding vases, along with Kralik inkwells in other shapes. The draped pattern also appears in vases, jugs and open salts.
On the subject of wells: I'd rather buy a cracked inkwell with its well, than one without. Wells can only be bought from the Society of Inkwell Collectors, or from a company in England, and they are NOT cheap; at least $20, no matter the size (and imagine the shipping if you buy from the UK). One never knows whether these venues will have the correct size, so the last time I bought, I invested in some extras of the most common sizes.

The blue is my favorite. The similarity of the mounts argue for a common maker. Did Kralik produce their own mounts or did they farm out the work to some other manufacturer?
Right. a senior moment. That what I have said somewhere. I have the draped in cranberry as well, and it looks just like the SPO!
