I purchased this clock in 1964 from an antique shop in Greenwitch Village, NY.
It's a Regulator. circa unknown but I believe maybe early 1900.
"Regulator" was on the glass and removed by the husband.
It still works. One time repair was made in 1978. Original pendulem, star pattern pressed into frame, small piece chipped off bottom shelf decoration.

That's a very nice looking timepiece you have there. There are a couple of possibilities. Could you tell us what the clock measures in height and dial diameter? If it measures about 35 1/2 inches with a 12 inch dial it is a Sessions Regulator "H" circa 1908. They came in Oak but yours looks pretty dark. Perhaps it is made of a different wood or it was finished with a dark stain. You could also buy it with Time, Time & Strike, Time Calendar or Time & Strike Calendar movements. It looks like you have the Time only version. As of 2002, retail value was about $350-$450 for a mint condition example. It would have been better if the husband had not removed "Regulator" from the glass. The more original and complete, the more valuable a clock is to collectors.

You're welcome. Actually, your clock has appreciated in real value over the years. In 1908, it retailed for $6.50 which, accounting for inflation, would come to about $155 in 2010. A current retail value of around $400 is about a 4% return compounded annually on the intial $6.50. A lot more than you'll get from a bank these days! :) Enjoy the old-timer!
