This was given to me to hold on to for my daughter from my husband's elderly cousin who passed away. She had no children of her own and had quite the jewelry collection. She thought my daughter would love to own this someday when she is older. I have never found any information about it online and I am guessing it is from the 1980's.

I have the 1990 Summer Tiffany & Co Catalog with this pin in it. It shows 18k gold with a cultured pearl. It sold then for $550. I love this pin VERY much and hope to find one for myself someday, been looking for it for 21 years. Great item!
Thank you luxgirl for that info. I can't believe you have been looking for one like this for so long! I haven't ever seen another like it on the internet, so people must be holding on to them. I have no idea how to get such a thing appraised. (as you can tell I am not a collector nor a jewelry kind of gal) I do know a jewelry store owner whose wife used to work with me. He is a watchmaker as well and has always been very keen.
I am glad I could help! I almost bought the pin in 1990, but bought a watch instead and have regreted it ever since. I love animal jewelry, and this one is just adorable to me so I have wanted to buy one if it ever became available, I'm always checking Ebay, lol. An appraisel is nice to have for insurance reasons, but a lot of the time they are a bit inflated and it is very hard to sell any item for that appraised amount. In my opinion only, based on what I see in the market on other gold pins (I am not sure of the gold weight of yours, but probably not too heavy) and yours being Tiffany, this little pin is worth at least $700 or more. My search will continue, lol!
