This has been in my family since the late 1930's or 1940's, it looks like GOUDA, but there are no marks etc underneath. Interested to know whether it is GOUDA or an imitation. Thanks, Julie.

The Gouda pieces will have a mark on the bottom. I suspect that it is Japanese.
Some people do collect it as a thing in itself:

To vetraigo50, thanks for your quick reply. If it is JAPANESE as you suspect, what do you think the value is ? This vase is 9" tall, has vibrant colors, no chips, cracks or crazing. It was owned by my great grandmother, born 1901, and I suspect it is from the 1920-30's. Would appreciate a response . Thank you, Julie.

Sorry I am not a valuer just a collector. It is not expensive stuff. Check out ebay and the other auction houses for an indication.

The site provided by vetraio50 describes how much the collector pays for his items so you will be able to judge accordingly. I've had a few of these over the years and yes, they do not bring the prices that Gouda does even though they are very well made and very colorful. RER (BOB)

Looks like they copied Gouda, still attractive though
