does anyone know anything about this? I just got a large box of very old cars and army guys. I really like this, but know nothing about it. any help is appreciated.

Very nice find. It looks like you found a Hubley Racer #8 which was produced in the 1930's. It seems to be in remarkably good condition despite missing the axles and tires.

Look up Thomas Toys ,they make reproduction wheels and tires for old Hubleys like that.
