Thank you Bellin I found him in a little known place outside of Appleton :-)
Thank for the love ! I love wood animals , No cleaning up after them !
Thank you Amber !
Thank you vansky !
Your adorable monkey toy is German, from the late 20s or early 30s. I was unable to find the name of the manufacturer, but I did find a similar one in a German toy catalog from the 1920s. The zoo mark was identical, although the earlier ones didn't have the zoo medallion on the toy itself.
Wow thanks Stefdesign !!!!!! Thanks mystery solved so glad to know anything about him . He is so nicely done and fun to pose :-)
What a neat toy!
Scott
The cool thing is the catalog page shows lots of other animals from the same line. They are beautifully designed and articulated.
Thanks Scott !
Stef I am amazed you located him and to know there are other animals is a great find ! I would love to see pictures of catalog . I had never seen another in the many years I have had him much less another wood animal like him . I wonder who made these and maybe they didn't sell ? Wonder why we don't see them pop up ever if they were mass produced which I felt he was . You did SUPER !!
I would be happy to scan & send you a copy of the catalog page. Just give me your email address!
Sent! Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thank you MiKKo !
I'm so thrilled to find this information. I have the lion in this series. I have searched on and off for years without any results. My lion has some damage, he's lost one foot, but I love him anyway. I agree and wonder why we don't see more of these "Zoo" animals, I feel so lucky to have one. Thank you so much for the information.
Amberina I am so glad to hear of another one marked zoo ! stefdesign, Id'd it for me and sent the article so I could post it . She solved the mystery we just don't know why some are marked zoo and in brochure they are not . Post your's ! :-)
Manikin I hope you saw the pictures of the lion I posted. You can see why I like him so much. :)
This is the third or fourth time that I've "loved" this monkey. He's simply superb!!! : )
Manikin they moved my lion into "animals - toys" catagory in case you want to keep track of it.
