We found this at auction, does anyone know what years this was used?
C'mon you gas and oil guys, help me out. We love it just the way it is! My guess would be the 30s but it's not a very educated guess. There's a good side and not so good side obviously.

Socony...Standard Oil Company Of NewYork...look this up and it should help you date it.
Very nice, love it. I think it could be 20's, 30's was Socony/ Vacuum, yours only says Socony
Yeah, I tried that and all I got were the newer globes that have the REG. US on them instead of the older TRADE MARK marked ones. Apparently this one is pretty old. I just don't know the exact time.
It was one of the baby standards created after the break up of standard oil in 1911.

Look up Standard oil 1911,and you should be able get a brief history of the break up of Standard oil and the creation of all ths "baby standards".Check out my Stanocola oil sign that i found in the woods behind my house in tenn.
Thanks Garry! So my globe would've been in use in the upper Northern States such as NY, NH and Maine for example, after the break up. Yours would've been used in Indiana I take it.

Your globe was used in NY and and the rest of new england.Mine was used in Louisiana and Tnn.There are maps of areas after the break up on Wikipedia.Look up standard oil.
