I have this great vintage what I think is a Civil War officer Photograph that I am trying to find more information about. I am finding it hard to identify the uniform and has been stumping people I ask. It is a Brady Mount but don't know if it is an Albumen Print. From up close magnification it does seem like it to me (but I'm no expert). If someone could enlighten men on who, what, where and when I would so appreciate it. Let me know if you need more information. Thanks so much!

Your photograph does look like an albumen print.

I am not familiar with the subject of the photograph. He is wearing a Civil War eagle belt plate, but the sword is much earlier. His uniform also looks much earlier or it was made to look earlier.

Thank you so much for your information and the tip about the belt buckle and also the sword and uniform. Thought it might be civil war but since it seems earlier that probably explains why I didn't find any pics on it so. Will try to see if I can search more about the uniform. Thanks again for taking the time to look and comment on it!

The photo itself is Civil War era or soon after.
