Bought in Venice in the 90's by me. A small colorful urn vase. These have grown out of favor with most buyers in Venice. The classic styling is unappreciated for the most part and not many, if at all, are made. It was true when I bought it and more true today. Modernism has taken hold in venetian glass and I am sad about that fact. This piece was made by a newer worker in glass based on the thickness. This is the kind of piece that those who are newbies do in there first five years with a factory. The super thin venetian goblets and such are done only by Master craftsman. There were only 8 left in 1999 when I was there. The youngest was in his sixties. The art of fine thin venetian may die out soon. Hence, why a controlled bubble between latticcino dolphin stemmed wine goblet runs $1500. Not many can do it.

      Hi Retro

You are definitely spot on the mark with your comments about the Pulegoso (controlled bubbles) and Latticino comments. A Glass master takes between 15 to 20 years to earn the title of MAESTRO and there are very few of them still left. I must say thought that there is a steady stream of apprentices ready to take their place. Venetian goblets are only ever made by Maestros as there is NO room for error.
