My wife bought this for me at auction a few weeks ago. Not sure of the age but I love the coin op stuff as long as they work/can be fixed and have the original key! Has the very same mech in it that my U.S. stamp machine. Lever operated and only takes a penny. And can you believe it, Hershey actually still makes a candy bar at 3" long that fits perfectly! I took it completely apart tonight and oiled a few of the springs and connectors and good as new. Holds around 50 bars of candy. The color of the machine is even chocolate. The gold insert is made of paper foil and reads Shipman MFG. Co. Los Angeles CA. I'm pretty sure it's been repainted. To get the money out, you unlock and remove the lid then lift the latches on both sides and the pennies pour out the bottom 2 trap doors.

Not sure of the yr. on that one. I'm thinking late 20's early 30's. I have the 3ft tall one I restored and it's hanging on my wall. It is a 1923, and also takes a 3 inch candy bar. I also have the gum machine you have sitting next to your hersheys, except mine is red. You have a good eye for coin op candy and Gum machines. You need to get a Select-o-Vend candy and gum machine from the 40's. Can pick up a restored one on ebay for around $125.00.
