I love this vase, but I don't know who designed or which brand it belongs to. I bought it on eBay (from a German seller) for almost nothing and it was labeled under "Erik Höglund for Holmegaard" (funny, isn't it?).

I have seen a simmilar one in opaline, again at a website from Germany, but have no clue about its origin. Because of its design I think it could be German or Swedish, but... So far it remains an unsolved mistery.

Anyway, what I find so appealing about it is the shape and the colour, both the sade of purple -pretty reddish- and the fact that the glass becomes almost opaque at the top (and i seem to recall the opaline one had the same characteristic).

I see Denmark and a Lutken candlestick/vase and a Riihimaen Lasi shape. I agree it is a difficult one. I've spent hours looking and have enjoyed the search; but no result ....... yet!

Thanks so much for trying! "Top difficulty" unless someone finds one in its original box or at least holding the original sticker... I first thought it could be Wiesenthalhütte or any other German brand, but no results... yet! :)

I have seen a very simmilar vase made by WMF circa 1970... http://www.glaskilian.de/UEberfangvase-WMF-Geislingen-u.426+B6YmFja1BJRD00MjYmTD0xJnByb2R1Y3RJRD0yMjU2MSZwaWRfcHJvZHVjdD00MjYmZGV0YWlsPQ__.0.html

Does anyone have information about WMF?

I'm not sure if you're still checking these older posts but maybe Ingrid Glashutte?

Better late than never, right? : )

To be honest, that was a bit of a fluke. I was doing a search for images of two different items and saw those pictures just a few days apart.

      Thanks swfinluv1 :)

Well, don't want to sound rude but I'm a little skeptical in general (about anything...) Having it sold as Ingridglas isn't a definite fact... (I've bought Kosta sold as Holmegaard for instance); only a pic of the item with an Ingrid label or it appearing on an ad or catalogue would be definite....

I've searched online on Ingrid glass and no I've seen no colour like the one in my vase or the opal one (they have some white highly textured glass, but not on smooth surfaced items)... I know this proves nothing either. also, the shape doesn't remind me at all of simmilar designs from Ingrid... I'll keep on looking for info in this direction as I may be wrong. let's see what soe research shows off...

By the way... it could also be wmF because...

There you go ..... still up in the sir !!!!

Just putting it out there as an option since the seller identified it as Ingrid. That's why I used the word 'maybe'. : ) I've seen items with actual stickers that I think are misidentified so I understand the skepticism on IDs like this. Hope you find a definite answer!

I think it is from Polish glasswork Tarnowiec.
    16. austrohungaro austrohungaro, 3 years ago
      Thanks soooooooooooooooooo very much MajaS!!!

It certainly is a Tarnowiek vase! After a log search in which I could check that the colours did match with those I have seen this vase in (purple, white and salmon, plus a mix of white and purple) I have found a simmilar one only shorter and with a handle.

And I have been able to find who the designer is: Jerzy Sluczan-Orkusz.

It is sad that we never think of Polish glass when trying to identiry mistery glass pieces. This very thing has happened to me before with my Zbigniew Horbowy vase.

There is even a white one in white for sale:
