I Picked This Up This Past Week At a Thrift Store. It Is A metal match Box Holder That Was Used By The Fireplace Or a wood burning stove. Not Sure Of the Age. I thought it was really A Neat Item. And Pretty Good Shape For its Age. Thank Yall for Looking And have A Blest Day!

Joe, we had one of these in my home as a child, it was in the kitchen for the stove and oven because they did not have pilot lights and they were gas.

BTW, the matches came in a box that fit right into the holder and the openings on the sides were for the striker strips.

These are cool. I have the same one with a price tag on the back that says "29 cents". My Father in-law gave it to me a few years ago to have near my garage wood stove.

Grandmother had one of these while I was growing up. I think these are from the early 1950's. Used to keep wooden latch sticks inside that came in a box that slid in from the top with the matches on the bottom for easy access for use on the stove in the kitchen and living room.
