About nine months ago, I posted a tintype of my great grandfather “Cassius” and a letter he wrote to my grandfather in 1911. In the letter he referred to his half sister Laura Jones “rattling gab that no one could get a word in edgewise.” Well, here is Aunt Laura 35 years later (second from left) and her husband Bill and my grandparents Mary and Calvin (couple on right) in Frankfort, IN, in 1946. I never knew this photo of Aunt Laura existed until I recently found it! Aunt Laura was only a few years older than her nephew Calvin, my grandfather. That’s my brother blowing the bubble. Thanks, Mom, for writing the names on the back of this photo.
Perhaps we can all learn a valuable lesson here.......identify people and dates on the back of our photos!
