i would really love to know anything about this floor lamp i purchased at an estate sale. I usually do my own research as a hobbyist , but i have found nothing that even remotely resembles this lamp. There are no manufacturers names anywhere , only numbers stamped into the bottom of the base. one of the numbers is E426 , which i learned has something to do with the electromagnet properties of the base , whether to inspect it for damage or to apply a coating. , that i do not know. The other number was "NO 166" which i assume is the production number. Why would a company go through the trouble of making a number , but not putting a trademark or logo? i also found something odd , the base doesnt have a hole or cut-out for the wire , i am also assuming that the wirewould just come from one of the two holes on the top piece. there are 2 socket chambers and 2 holes..thats how i come to that conclusion. If you have any expertise , i would greatly appreciate any input. Thank you kindly.
Hello bobby12668, Your floor lamp is in the style of Oscar Bach. Oscar Bach made a point of signing all his products because many people tried to copy him. More notably is his ex-business partner who started Segar Studios and stole many of his designs. Check under the base for a small plaque with Oscar Bach's name. If it is not there, it is probably Segar. The finish appears to be in rough condition, even for a Segar. Value is decorative; about $100.00-$150.00. I hope this helps.
