I Found this earring about 10 years ago with my metal detector in Connecticut. Im pretty sure its an opal stone, and has 975 on the reverse, which is high quality silver.
Does anyone know how old this could be or any other info on it?

Pretty earring.. it's hard to tell from that type of clasp, it could be anywhere from the 1960s onward. Don't think it's older than that.
Since you're in Connecticut, maybe you could take your metal detector over to Rhode Island and find a favorite silver/ lapis earring I lost in the mid '80s. It's in a soccer field in Wakefield. Let me know when you find it! :p
I also think it's a moonstone.
I agree, it apears to be moonstone.
