This ashtray is nicknamed "fried egg" by Lütken himself in his GLASS IS LIFE book. It really is a nice design in one of Lütken's greatest colours, although I have got a bigger one in gray (about 18 cm wide... this one is about 14 cm.) and that's a lovely one as one can truly appreciate the effect of the massive bump of glass in the centre of the piece. By the way, I am just guessing the bump is to put off the cigarette on.
