Sometimes it all boils down to timing! Decided to stop by one of my favorite stores this morning and walked in right as this set was being placed onto the shelf. I'm not sure it really did make contact before I had it in my hands, lol! Gorgeous, hollow pieces stamped "made in japan". Doesn't feel like chalkware, but it is lightweight. The stable plays "Oh Holy Night" and lights up as you can see. I've been looking for the past few years for a nativity set that reminded me of the one my Mom has and this one definately does! There are a few imperfections with this piece, but I'll take care of those after the holidays so that it will be good as new next year :)

Appreciate the love vintagejewel!
My mother had this same set and for years we would huddle around it as kids, for the Christmas story. A lot of great memories for sure. I would make an educated guess as to the date it was made, somewhere around 54' to 60'.
