Two colonial postcards from the Philippines (1900s):
- English officer holding the head of a pirate after the execution
- local prisoners in torture cages (with stamp and postmark, dated 1907)

    So proper...and not a drop of blood on those starchy white uniforms! Gotta love the British Military! LOL

    We could use some of those torture cages around towns and cities. Might make the bad guys think before they do the crime.

    AND we could use some beheadings too! LOL I have worked for 2 Police departments, and my dad was a cop for 30 years....its only getting worse!

    I like to collect macabre and violence-related items. Violence has always been an important aspect of human behavior, for what you call the "bad guys", as much as for the institutional order-enforcing subjects (in this case, colonial invaders)... I only appreciate its anthropological value, but I do not condone it, on either side. The striking thing in these pictures is the absurd quality of the graphic images as opposed to the innocent idea of a postcard... very surrealistic. :)
