Post-mortem picture of a little child, from Russia, dated 1929. I'm not particularly into collecting post-mortem photos, but on this one the deceased child's look is so strangely and sadly haunting I just had to have it.

Another fascinating collectable. Even though I understand the concept it's still eery.
Strangely enough, they still do this today. A friend of mine lost her baby shortly after birth...the hospital asked if she would like to have the baby dressed and photographed. The photo sits on her mantle.
The baby's appearance doesn't make me think pm-- is there an inscription indicating the baby was photographed pm?
