Chinese shoes for bound feet, mid-1900. The tradition of foot binding resisted in China during the XX Century even after the practice was outlawed.

This tradition is the creepiest of them all. What a great find.

Yeah, the practice of foot binding sure was gruesome. I spotted these shoes in a beautiful little shop in Amsterdam.
