    This is a WW2 era snapshot of what I believe is an Army Sergeant in some sort of landing craft.

    Based on the land in the background, I believe that this is Pacific theater.

    The SGT has struck a tough guy pose with a pipe in his mouth and his Thompson at the ready!

    The back of the image has a period ink notation of "this is me".

      Muzzle and trigger finger awareness doesn't seem to have been a concern during earlier wars.

      I saw some pretty tragic accidents in the course of my career, so I was always correcting soldiers when they were lax.
