A Christmas present from my wonderful wife - another rare Loetz Turmalin (my second in as many months!) - This one is in a documented shape 2/536 as shown in the Loetz Musterschnitte (see last photo). Best of all we have now have an example of a new Dek Number - Dek 307 as written in gold ink in the polished pontil. This is an artist's piece - the shape is oblong with side peaks that are pulled up (there are tool marks where this was done). The enameled florals are skillfully and symmetrically woven in between the prunts. The beauty of this piece is in the subtlety of its color combined with the boldness of its design.
