This cabinet card is out of New York and features a boy holding his hunting rifle while his dog lounges in the photographers chair.
The dog's pose is unusual.
The rifle appears to be an Australian back lock rifle (probably Civil War era percussion) that has been sporterized with the stock shortened and changed to a breach loader.
The boy is identified on the back in period ink as "Lawrence Smith".
