I was happy to finally buy my first Coca-Cola calendar last week, as the year was a-winding down. A crinkle here and tear there, Jan. is missing, as well as the metal strip hanger, but that just means this beauty is right up my alley. Not too many of these Classic Calendars come up for auction on eBay, especially at a reasonable price. The BIN option was a little high and luckily seller was a pro, so after a little back and forth we settled on a mutually beneficial exchange (let's just say "under 3"!). I plan to have it framed showing the month of my wife's birthday. To take pics, I hung it using magnets on a return air duct in the business side of my basement. To say it briefly added a bit o' elegance to an otherwise Spartan decor over there is a slight understatement! Will post more pics when she's under glass. *Many thanks to earlycoke for giving me the nod, and cocacolakid97 for schooling me on what "The Duster" means - doh!*

Pretty piece Dave! I have never really gotten into the calendars but hear they are very much in demand by collectors. She's a beauty

Very Nice piece Dave, will look awesome framed! Let the rest of us know what a "duster" is, I thought it was a "70's car or a cowboy's overcoat?

    Thanks Perry and Bernie.
I have the serving tray showing this same Coca-Cola girl, from the shoulders up. When cckid visited, he saw the tray and commented "nice Duster". I nodded, trying not to look like I had no idea what he meant, and thought to myself "duster must be what collectors call trays". It wasn't until I bought this calendar, and saw the girl holding the feather duster, that it clicked! Aha! This image, the girl, is nicknamed "The Duster"!!!!! I had a good laugh.

Hmmm...so you're going to have this framed showing the month of your wife's birthday and showing a woman with a duster. Wondering if your wife will think you're trying to imply that she should do more dusting around the house. I'm just saying....you need to think this through Dave. Women read into these things. :)

I hear you Ray. See, I was thinking that by displaying the month of her birthday, she may be less likely to ask that certain little question, the one we collectors all enjoy so much hearing from our spouses:

    "How much did THAT cost?"

Thanks Trev! I love that door push you picked up, man, that's got me fired up!

This is why I buy pocket-size items (like the one I just posted). Just get the mail before my wife gets home, open up the treasure, photograph it, place it in a plastic sleeve and display it on my Coke room shelves. "Nobody" needs to know...

More importantly...is that a "Saturday Night Fever" album that I'm seeing??

You don't miss a thing! I'm LMAO because I wondered if anybody would comment on that. Yes, I remember as a 9th grader brushing my hair for a half hour, then spinning that album while dancing in front of a mirror. Oh... my... pity me as I am stuck with that memory until death! To this day, I love 70's AM radio, mostly pop/rock. But we were subjected to heavy doses of disco as well back then, and it's part of my teenage era, so I embrace it!

Ya...well I was Disco King back in the 1970s. I knew all of the dances (Hustle, Latin Hustle, Tango Hustle, Line Dance Hustle, Bus Stop, Electric Slide...), wore the platform shoes, silk shirts, flared-cuffed trousers, suede jacket (I actually still have one of my silk shirts and my suede jacket although for some reason, they seemed to have shrunk!)

You'll have to post an old picture some day, would love to see 70's Ray.
