My Uncle passed these onto me about 10 years ago after he passed away. They are original Socony Vacuum Mobil Gas (w/ pegasus) vintage glasses from 1936 and he maintained them extremely well.

He never used the glasses and requested that I did not either. He also wanted them kept in the original rack that they came in and it's original plastic to protect it. He only collected certain items so I'll always wonder what these meant to him.

I would love to know more about these glasses if anyone has any knowledge. (There is also a map that goes with them in a separate post).

    Thanks.

Very cool item! Although I can't imagine why he requested that you never use the glasses.

Thanks for the love! I don't know why he asked that of me either. My only explanation is that he believed they would be worth something, but I haven't been able to find any information on them.

Hi Nikki, the only thing I know about these is that they were given to you when you bought gas [so sort of free] the year is probably right, but I have never seen a carrier!?! did he just happen to have it to hold them ,or was this something dealers got? Also never saw this many in one place, they are not very common in my area.As a value for the glasses only I would say $10-15 each. Thanks for posting!
