I got my Christmas presents this morning. Well, in fact they're not "Chritmas presents"... In Spain the tradition goes that the three Wise Men (which are called "los tres Reyes Magos") are the ones bringing gifts to the kids in the morning of January 6th, and that's what we call "regalos de Reyes". Now it's different but when I was a kid we got a couple of small presents on December 25th (and they were not brought by Santa Claus but the Child Jesus) and in the morning of January 6th we'd wake up to find all the amazing presents we had previously told them we wanted (of course, we had to write them a letter telling them we had been such good kids we did deserve everything we were asking for)... and I remember we used to leave our shoes in the place where we wanted to get our presents as well as three glases of liquor for the three kings, plus a bucket full of water for their camels.
Anyway, this year my partner gave me these four amazing items: a Sven Palmqvist RHAPSODY decanter (Orrefors), a Lütken LAVA vase (AMAZING! it's 21 cm. tall and has such a colour I was breathles when I opened the box it came in) and two Lütken's NAJADE vases which are simply great, specially the 33 cm. tall one.
And in return I gave him this lovely ISS cocktail shaker, designed by Vicke Lindstrand for Orrefors in 1936. There is a couple more gifts on their way home, but they're not as impressiveas this one :)
