NOT an incredible garage sale treasure found while strolling around the neighborhood... rather, a laborious bid auction acquisition I had to sweat out the eBay way. Some of us have to work for it!!!! :)
Thermo #4 here in the Coke Cave. Found a nice spot where it seems to belong. I've seen these go for $300 or more, so I'm happy to have it for 1/2 that much. Last second bid did the trick yet again.
Hope everybody's having a good weekend. Gotta get back to the game. Please jump on the Lions bandwagon tonight, so that the extra karma may contribute to a victory over the Saints (Louisiana viewers, I love ya!!!!).

I just did a little bidding on one of these recently (not agressively though) LOL. It looks great on your wall buddy!!!!
A great looking thermometer. It looks like a twin to mine,I will check it out.
Thanks Tommy! Hey Wendling, I've always felt the "cigar" thermometer is one of the coolest. These don't come up as much as they used to, so took me awhile to find this one. Thanks for looking.
Very cool Dave!! So it was you that out-bid me was it?? Someday I'll get one for a "pickers" price!! Great buy on a very nice piece!
I always hope I'm not bidding against any of you guys! We all kinda like the same stuff. :)
As long as one of "us" end up with this stuff it's all good, keep it in the family ya know, hehe
You did very well Dave! Very hard to find in this good condition. I saw one at an antique show last year that they were asking $450 for and it had some issues with it. My wife asked me if I wanted it and I passed because of condition. WTG!
Thanks Bernie and Perry. I've got a good mix of mint, excellent, good, and RUSTY condition items! I've covering all the bases. :)
Smokin' with the cigar thermo. And you've got a retro-style popcorn maker. Nice. (I've got the retro-style hotdog roller machine.)
And pay no attention to Daddy Bigbucks, he doesn't sweat on eBay. I've got a new nickname for Dave: BIN QUIN (BUY IT NOW).
The popcorn maker was a Christmas gift. Now I don't have to walk up the stairs for my 'corn.
Hey, I aint' finding $400 trays while I'm out walking the dog!!!!!
About 30 years a go, Ifound my Coke thermometer at a garage sale. I had to think it over for a few minuets before buying it fo $1.50 yes $1.50.
Wow, a buck and a half!?!? That's incredible. Boy, this stuff really has increased in value, move that decimal over two places for what I paid. That still had to be considered a sweet snag even back then Wendling! Thanks for sharing. Now I'm going to go have a good cry! :)
Hey I didin't even notice the popcorn machine before! Sweet gift from your wife?
Yes, I received a number of nice gifts this year. I think this is my favorite. It looks good and cranks out some pretty good popcorn! I also got a gift certificate from our local antiques mall (the one cckid scored that great bottle at). I think I'll go up there and try to find some 40's era bottles to stock my carrier and crate. I've tinkered a little with the look of that wet bar. Recently I added a 1932 FDR campaign button, which was owned by my grandmother. It's the only non-CC item hanging in the room. I figure he earned the honor, "pretty good prez". I'll post a pic, check it out. It's fun to focus on specific areas of the cave.
