Unusual sterling silver spoon by Shreve & Co.
The figure looks quite a bit like George III. Certainly the clothes point to that era. I believe the man carries a hat under his right arm; a sword by his side. His coat suggests a brocade fabric. I cannot determine what he has in his hands; it seems to be a pair; one in each hand.
Weight is approximately 15.5 pennyweights or 24.1051 grams. Approximately 4 1/2" x 2" (at the widest part).
Does anyone know anything about the history of this spoon? Who is the individual on the spoon? Has anyone seen another like it?
Seems more like a souvenir, than part of a set. Any help is greatly appreciated.
