Hi! I came across your beautiful Norwegian souvenir spoon the other day and had to look into it.
The engraved "Stavanger" is the Norwegian city being 'remembered'. Stavanger wasn't the only city in which these were sold. For instance, this spoon was also sold in Bardufoss, and the bowl sold there is similarly engraved "Bardufoss".
Isach Adrerssen is probably the vendor from whom the traveler purchased the spoon.
Pewter is the metal used in your spoon. I did find two silverplated examples, and I think that I might also have found one 830 grade solid silver spoon. (I saw the 'solid silver' spoon in question yesterday, but cannot find it today.) I haven't seen a photo of any hallmarks on the pewter spoon. I didn't see a legible photo of the hallmarks on the silverplated spoons, either. The seller of one silverplated spoon stated that the hallmarks were "T. K. 60 GR"; designating a maker and a grade of silver plate. I think the "T." could well be an "I." or a "J." instead. Based upon my recollection of the photo of the impressed hallmark in what I thought was a solid silver version, I think that either the "T" was not a "T" but probably an "I" or a "J", or, alternatively the "T." was not impressed well. I read the hallmarks on that spoon as "I. [or "J."] K. 830S", with "830 S" designating a solid silver piece of 830/1ooo purity.
There are three molded scenes on the spoon. The scene next to the bowl is depicts a Viking warrior armed for battle and a ship; it is entitled "VIKING". The middle scene depicts a cabin, farm animals, mountains/hills, and a girl blowing a long horn; it is entitled "SETERUV". I couldn't find a translation or referent for this word. The scene on top depicts an oceanscape, with a polar bear on an ice island, and a cruise ship on the water. At left is a logo or motif that I cannot decipher. Is it a company logo? A stylized motif of three waves? Hmmm. At the crest of the spoon is a rising sun - or perhaps the midnight sun? The sun-sky is perhaps crested with clouds?
