These two vases are amazing, but I don't know their designers nor their brand... I sometimes think they might be unsigned Strömbergshyttan (which would be great as I absolute adore this factory's work) or could be Smålandshyttan...
Both of them have a polished pontil that looks almost the same in both cases and they stand 13 and 21 cm. tall
I'd say Strömbergshyttan for the smaller one for sure. Both are elegant!
Yes, that shape I have seen in Strömbergshyttan pieces... the big one I've never seen again. But if they're Strömbergshyttan, shouldn't they be signed?
I agree it probably should be signed.
PS: I hope the package from Denmark is a good surprise!
hahaha, you're terrible :) It will be a very nice piece: a RUBY vase standing 11 cm. tall, just 1,5 cm taller than the smallest one on the picture :)
I will check their bases on Wednesday, compare it to other Strömbergshyttan stuff and takes pics of them all... Meanwhile, I expect someone will recognize the clear vase, which seems to be quite unique...
And it's a good thought too!
Thanks so much for your help, Scandi! Is the Lindstrand on the picture a "flat" design? The shape reminds of my mistery piece, but I still i find both very different...
Thanks SO MUCH, Scandi! Mmmm... I don't think mine will be a Lindstrand... Mine is flat and has a lot of solid glass at the bottom... at some point the top reminds me more to Nils Landberg's work, but they have flat bases with no polished pontils (none of my three Landbergs has)... My small Lindtrand does have a polished pontil but I think it's quite different to the ones in this pieces... Their being unsigned is pretty weird.
Hi, it looks like two vases from Strombergshyttan, but I'm not sure? The left, has in that case model number B894 and was made in heights of 145, 215 and 250cm in a catalogue from 1972 (maybe other heights also was produced or it could be another similar model from S-hyttan), and available with coloured underlayer (here it seems to be x73 Golden-yellow). The right seems to be B927, but I have no catalouge documentation of heights. If it's Strombergshyttan I think both are Gunnar Nylund designs, drawings by him from mid-1950s are not the same but similar to these. One of these (maybe B559) has a not so extreme developed form as the right vase and B927, but in that direction. If you look at the glass together with glass from other swedish manufactors, Strombergshyttan has a weak blue tone in the crystal. They were quite alone with this special blue toned crystal created from a prescription from England and containing less lead. I know that Lindstrand at Kosta did similar models, but if you see this differenses in crystal tone, Strombergsyttan are not to be mistaken.

I have been secretly wishing these two vases to be Strömbergshyttan as I like them so much, LOL
They're both unsigned and I explain at the post they do look like the come from the same factory. I read somewhere that Smålandshyttan didn't usually sign their pieces, what made me thing of them as such.
As for the colour... the clear glass is really clear, no blue-ish cue at all in them (although I have a totally clear vase/cigarette holder signed "Strömbergshyttan"; the clear one in this picture: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/assets/stories/8nW8wf.V7nGAg4fj.U7g0A.jpg it is flat in shape and have a rough surface at the bottom).
By the way, I love that light blue colour in SH glass. A more intense light blue was used from the 1950s at the Danish Holmegaard glassworks, here you can see a selection of them designed by Per Lütken: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/user/austrohungaro/per-ltkenakva

Hi rebessin, i have just seen online a picture od SH 927... I don't think mine is that one! I guess the Smålandshyttan option is stronger here.

In the picture in page 20 at precisensan, B927 have a longer an not so wide top. It's seems to be furnace work, no post processing with the grinding disc like teh orher picture. Maybe has the top been damaged an after that grind off, I don,t know? Or it would be other models with similar shapes? I miss catalogues from these years late 50,s and 60's and would answer when I get them. But the color, clear crystal without tints does not point at Strombergshyttan. I have seen cataloges from Kosta and Lindstrands glass from this time, there are a model that have much longer bottom than this, so Kosta is not so true either.
Thanks rebessin! I also though of Kosta, specially because I have seem something simmilar to my amber vase in blue attributed to Lindstrand, but I don't think they're Kosta either. They would certainly sign their stuff, wouldn't they?
