We have a Woody festival once a year here, they are great cars and the people who drive them now are very fun! Manikin, I'm with you, 6:00 p.m. starts seeming late to me. Be careful, Bellin, Manikin is right, that working, and, for me, working out, can get to you!!
Thank you Michelle ! Do you go to the Woody festival ? How fun that must be :-) Love these old wood cars !
Thank you vansky !
I live in one of the last SoCal beach towns to have remained in the 60's. There is terrible drainage, so it was never developed. It is the old California I grew up with, the smell of Eucalyptus and salt sea rotted wood, a LOVELY smell!! I'm sincere!! It is usually around Christmas. Everybody goes to the Woody show as it is a huge reunion where you know you will see everybody that you haven't seen in a long time. It definitely is one of the focal points of our little village's social agenda, as well as the baby fireworks they set off over the ocean cliffs on 4th of July. Those two events you are sure to see ALL the community, the Elders, the kids, everybody. We love the Woody Festival!!
Michelle I grew up as far south in Ca you could get before mexico . I was 17 Mi from the border :-) I don't remember any water around our house in fact was very dry . Are you on the Ocean ?
Yes, thanks to a dear old friend, I have my perch over the sea. I took some photos last night because the Santa Ana winds made the San Clemente Islands VERY clear, stunning, it's rarely clear enough to see them. I am just south of Carlsbad, a village named Leucadia, that was incorporated into Encinitas in 1979, but none of the Leucadians will accept that fact and we all call it Leucadia. Were you raised in National City? I dated the Deputy Chief of Police there for many years. He's retired now, we broke up 'cos his favorite thing to do was drink and ride the Harley. After accident #3, I decided his"I'm here to enforce the law, not to obey it" was NOT funny, and though we remain friends,ze romance she iz ded! How we say in France, oops got off topic!!! YES is the answer to your question.!!Mich
I'm going to say the year would be either a 49 or 50, because mainly the hand written date on it. The 49 and the 50, both had those rolled front fenders and the grill and park lights are different. so I'm rambeling now lol. Nice pic Mani.
Thanks kerry I hope you were dating the age of the car and not my birthdate LOL I wish I had a better photo . This was my first husband in car as a child he passed away a very long time ago . Glad he lived through this accident as they were hit by a semi in car so the car saved them and this was pre seatbelts .
I was dating the auto......... I would never date you that old. :-)
Thank you Kerry ! LOL Your a real gentleman for sure :-)
Thank you ttom :-)
