This is what appears to be a Mid-Century Hand Painted Sidewalk Sign, it is from Chattanooga, TN. I found it when I answered an ad for a garage sale, but it was more like a huge warehouse full of cool old stuff, this being the diamond in the rough. He said that they took it out of an old business a while back. It is from down on Broad Street, which is one of the main strips through the local downtown. To my knowledge it seems to be a cast iron base and hoop with a tin sign. It appears to be hand painted, the front has some chipping, but a very exciting facade. The back is kind of odd, they seemed to paint over it when they shouldn't have, but it adds to the character either way.
I'm sort of a novice when it comes to this and was curious to see if anyone had any feedback on it. Any idea on more precise time period, do you ever see these, if so where, how much, what other sorts of advertising? Thanks for any help here.
