i have a christopher columbus cast front clock sitting on the desk in front of me. i was so happy to see some info on it after all these years. this clock sat on the desk of my granfather who was a self - taught ships' powerplant engineer, who worked aboard ships starting in ww 1, ww 2, and viet nam. he died just before i was released from conscripted duty in 1972. i saw a copy of this clock in the maritime museum in san diego harbor. i would estimate monetary value at less than $ 1000. i am compiling information about the clock to go with which ever of my nephews would be interested in cherishing it. the adventurous spirit of columbus,- to conquer ones' fear of the unknown and continue on, my grand father also possesd , and to hopefully inspire that courage in a younger generation of our young men, is beyond monetary value. they will require more courage than men before them had to muster in order to keep our republic.
