I purchased this heavy (looks like silver) ring at a estate sale. It has lots of ornate designs and has 1776 inscribed on the inside of the ring. I can't find any information about it, can anyone help me.
Thanks, Ernie

Looks like it has several symbols of the templar society. The rose n the back, the lion, this is a fascinating piece. I believe it is a ring that was worn by someone of royalty, or a secret society, the imagination goes wild, but...I stayed for several weeks at the Chateau Les Rennes in France where the Knight's Templar had one of their main churches and many thought their treasure was there, but every symbol on your ring was in that church. It is fascinating. I wish we had a french Nobility and Monarchy jewelry expert somewhere here on CW. this ring is very imteresting, if not historically important, as well, or at least that is my fact free opinion!!. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! Mich
