I wanted to show a new life for an old clothes washer we found at an antique store. The owner complained about it, the store was nicely "staged" and she said that they had to hire several men to move the washer when ever they "re-arranged". Therefore, it went into the back of our truck, and found a new home with us. Luckily, when we moved in '08 due to an Interstate highway, the State had to hire 'movers'... and I insisted that they place it right where I wanted it. Then I filled it with potting soil, leaned the 'lid' on the side, and sprinkled "moss rose" seeds on top. The washer is an electric powered unit, but still has a wringer on top - so we believe that the washer was simply to agitate the clothes, drain, rinse and then you wring them out up top. We sure enjoy our modern day version of washers and dryers. PS - Collectors Weekly needs to add a category or two: Appliances / Laundry

      Looks great.
Somebody down the street had an old claw-foot bathtub in their yard full of plants, but somebody dumped the dirt out and stole it!
How about a category for "yard art"?
