This is a 18" X 15" oil on canvas board that depicts a soldier holding a nurse as bombs explode in the background.
The artist was not a professional, but the amateur qualities do not detract from the impact of the painting (to me). It is similar in style to WW1 Patriotic Posters.
The artist has signed and dated-- 1940, just before the US entered WW2.
Reproduction of this image in any form is not authorized.
