I purchased this vase in a lot at a local auction. It feels sorta Finnish or Scandinavian to me and was in fact in a box with a number of marked items from the same locations. It is definitely mid-century, it is cased, has a polished pontil and an applied clear crystal handle.
I just can't quite place it, or find anything exactly like it for comparison. It's beautiful! Unfortunately the pictures make it appear shiny black when in fact it is a deep smokey black and not pure black at all. I'd love some help with identifying this piece, I'm quite taken with it.

Hi. I've just come across this piece and I bought a couple of candlesticks yesterday with a ground pontil very similar to this one. The size is important I think. The handle also suggests a Swedish company Lindshammar. I am only guessing but I think it might be Gunnar Ander.
STUNNING AS WELL :)
