I have three 78RPM records obtained from a library in New Jersey recorded by Bill Monroe himself in 1944. As many will realize there was a ban on recording during WW2 as the materials used were needed for the war effort. I have played these records and they seem to be the a time of transition for Monroe trying out new band members and possibly different arrangements of tunes he later recorded. I believe all these records were titled by Monroe himself in his own handwriting by fountain pen. These are live recordings and also include a few other sides that were recordings of Monroe's friends such as Roy Acuff and the Ennis brothers, on opposite sides of Monroe's band recordings. interesting pieces of history of a man I always admired, mister Bill Monroe
