My mother-in-law has this watch given to her by her mother. It's an unusual shape. I was wondering how unusual or rare it might be. What I know about the watch is that it is 14k GF, "Wadsworth quality"(?), Case is dated 12/6/24 SN#7096926, Waltham 17 jewel movement SN#24766464.

This is a unusual case. I have not come across one in person in the past 25 years.
The scratches indicated when the watch was repaired or cleaned in the past. Wadsworth made the case starting in 1924 and the Waltham movement was made in 1924 as well, meaning this is likely one of the first of its shape.
I love that shape!
