This is a cabinet card by Stafford of Minneapolis, MN and features a favorite pet.
Based on the dogs size, he was a fixture around the dining table!
The image dates from about 1885 and came in large grouping of cabinet cards, all by Stafford.

And he wore his best bow for photo, I'm sure he was lovingly groomed beforehand too! He has such a sweet smile, I bet they brushed his teeth :)
