I have this music box that sat on my great-grandmother's piano back in the early 1950's when I was a child, and it seemed pretty old back then. I wonder if anyone can tell me anything about the value so I know whether or not to insure it. The base it about 7" at its widest point, and about 13" high. The shape of the base is octagonal and it has 9 angels or cherubs playing various instruments around the steeple that has a small bell in it. The piece needs some serious cleaning and one cherub needs to be re-glued. Information on the large label: Thorens Movement; Grosser Gott/wir loben Dich; Die Himmel ruhmen; Made in Swizterland. The small stamp shows: Geschwister; Steinbach; Homenmamlen; G.M.B.H. There is also a stamp that says "Made in Germany" and underneath "Western Zone", and the initials "A.T." are also stamped on the bottom. The movement does work as well as it did over 50 years ago.

I would appreciate any information anyone can provide. Someday I plan to give this to my daughter and would like to be able to give her some history. I'm not even sure what category to list this in!
Thank you!!
