This is vintage postcard of a dog can some one tell
me what kind dog this. It is very good looking
strong dog in the back ground is his owner.
I do not know how they kept him still and on top
that looking straight at the camera. I worked in at a photography studio and they would bring there pets early
morning before public. i had a hard time taking a picture because all they wanted to is play everything they saw they wanted to play with it.

Hey-
This dog is an English Bull Terrier. This dog is in the Pit Bull family. Like "Spuds MacKenzie" and the "Target Dog". General Patton also had one. Nice vintage photo/post card!!
Thank you, tlmbaran, what I was trying to say this postcard was issue between 1917-1930's. thank once again.

In the early part of the century you would see postcards of the Edwardian sitters and their dogs, this dog was one of them that came up regularly. The postcard is around the 1910 era. There is a book on the Victorians and their dogs, a lot of people loved to show off their bred dogs.
